This is an introductory for those who want to feed or learn more about the basics of feeding Raw Meaty Bones (RMB) or a Species Appropriate Diet (SAD) which can be also known as a Prey Model Diet to their carnivorous pets, such as those in the Canine, Feline and Weasel families.

We will go over things lik
e Fact & Fiction for carnivores that will help you tell a carnivore from an omnivore or herbivore, Benefits of a species appropriate diet versus kibble, a Process section that has some suggestions on where to find cheap and free meat and a couple ways to process bulk meat to cut down on cost including basic tools you may need to process, Starters suggestions like meats that are easy on the tummy, including some things to avoid when starting out, a small dictionary of popular words used in raw feeding and other basic dos and don'ts, a Links page that can guide you to raw meat distributors and support and networking groups to learn even more, a math section that breaks down what percentages and ratios are recommended in this diet and a Testimonial page where I will post success stories up here and there for encouragement.

NEWLY ADDED!is a blog I am creating called Raw Journey, which will be my own raw journey from the the very beginning, before I even started on raw and how my life went pertaining to my learning experience and the effects it had on my own pets.

Now if you are just starting out then you might be feeling a little overwhelmed and perhaps a bit clueless but that is OK! You are not expected to know everything immediately and there is a bit of trial and error to every new endeavor. Every individual animal is different and takes to raw differently, but every animal that is fed a species appropriate diet will flourish and I'm here to tell you that if you truly love your pets it is completely worth it! There may be more effort on your part if you choose to process your own meat or there are a few companies who process and package it for you. You may get frustrated from time to time or hear some rumor or ignorant remark that might test your resolve but I guarantee almost every single person feeding a raw diet has already been through most or all of it before and you are not alone! Find support, harden your resolve, put in the effort and you and your pet will reap the rewards!

[Finally a small warning that there are pictures in this site that may be graphic, but if you're planning on feeding a Raw Diet, you will most likely need to get past any gag reactions, or at least work through it.]
